One man coral replanting success for Sumatra
A one-man coral replanting project has proved remarkably successful in helping a coral reef devastated by the tsunami in 2004 to recover.
The idea is the brainchild of Pak Dodent, a resident of the island of Pulau Weh off the north coast of Sumatra.

Taiwan to ban whale shark consumption trade by 2008
Taiwan will ban the harvest and sale of whale sharks beginning in 2008, a
decision that could have repercussions at the Georgia Aquarium and other

Wreck exploration project to go ahead in Japan

meters, and has never been dived by commercial or scuba divers.
Reef protection project underway at Tioman island
Some 130 divers joined Regent of Pahang Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah to
build artificial reefs near Soyak Island, one of the eight surrounding
islands here, to protect and preserve marine life recently.
